Basic procedures are required to revive an automobile that spent 30 years in a barn. 

To check the quality and level of the oil, pull the dipstick. 

Check for coolant beneath the radiator cap. 

Try turning the engine manually while holding a breaker bar against the crankshaft bolt. 

Continue with a few more thorough checks if these tests are successful.
